First time visit and must admit we will return. Cracking pub, lovely conservatory restaurant area. Pleasant attentive staff and great food. The battered fish (size of a small whale) was one of best I have Eaton and the gammon eggs etc was again one of the best my wife has enjoyed. Highly recommended but make sure you fast for at least a day the portions were that generous. Thank you to the staff.

Having been a frequent visitor, we attended the Christmas carol event as we have done for the past 4 years. We were sickened to be there when such a horrific attack on innocent people took place. Main reason for this poor review is after visiting with friends this past weekend for a meal (which wasn't great at all), one of the staff we were chatting to (who was off due to an operation following an accident at work) was telling us that the group of lads who attacked those on Christmas eve have been going in & drinking still! Myself & my friends won't be returning, not when the management take that kind of disregard for customer safety.

Not only was the food amazing, the staff could not do enough for you and the service was impeccable! We had a large table of 13 and felt so well looked after by all members of the team! A huge thanks for a lovely evening!

I dined in at George and Dragon with my sister! We travelled all the way from Adelaide, South Australia. We spent the day in Holmes Chapel and decided to have dinner at this pub! Nichola who served us was amazing. She was kind and she chatted to us. The food was amazing! I had the Steak and Ale pie and my sister had the gluten free fish and chips. The pie filling was so yum! The gravy was great. Everything was wonderful. From the second we walked in. I hope I have the opportunity to travel here again because this was amazing! 5/5 from me! Awesome pub!

We booked a large table for a big birthday and couldn't be happier with how everything went!
Nicola in particular was so helpful in the run up to the evening. The chefs were not phased at all about a family member with difficult dietary requirements and on the evening itself (Friday 10 January) the service was was absolutely brilliant, the food was excellent and the night was made really special.

If you’re looking for a dining experience that feels like home, the George and Dragon is the place to go! The quality of food is absolutely amazing—truly the closest you can get to homemade cooking. I’m not usually one for dining in pubs, but this place is in a league of its own.
The staff deserve a special mention for their tremendous service. They are incredibly attentive, welcoming, and go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days.
Another standout feature is the cleanliness of the pub. It’s spotless and impeccably maintained, which sets it apart from so many other places.
Well done to the team at George and Dragon—keep up the fantastic work! I’ll definitely be back.

Went for a late lunch here with my mum last week for my birthday and it was wonderful. The only thing that was off was that the gammon was a bit too salty. But the chicken burger was amazing as was the apple crumble. The service was amazing as well and the staff very sweetly and unexpectedly made my birthday meal very special. They wrote Happy Birthday on the plate in chocolate sauce and they sang me happy birthday and I was so chuffed.

Sat waiting for over 25 minutes and no sign of any service. Walked out and went elsewhere. Lots of staff standing around doing absolutely nothing. First and last time visiting.

Half of coke, an apple juice and 2 packets of crisps for £9.30. Everything has gone up in price everywhere but that's just plain overcharging

I had lunch here today with my wife and have to say the food and service was fantastic. We had the Lunch deal two courses for £15 I had Sea bream and roasted veg with white wine sauce and it was good as any restaurant quality followed by a lovely lemon posset, wife's hand cut ham with home made chips, and they allowed her mushy peas instead of garden peas as on the menu. She had tiramasu for afters which was so tasty. The young ladies serving us were excellent, helpful, beautifully mannered and freindly. Will be back. Great value also.

I ordered one drink and £6 sausages, an hour later i’ve still not had any food. I have brought this to the attention to the staff member who served me, who instead of apologising has informed his manager saying he had forgot to put the food order through. i asked for a refund which was given but there was no apology at all. Really bad service from all concerned. I won’t be returning.

Stopped off here on our way home. Just off the M6. Met up with friends. Very nice and light ambience in the conservatory area. Staff are very friendly. Meal took a while to arrive but we were chatting so not an issue.

Just make sure you enter your cars registration on the provided tablet when you enter the pub otherwise the private parking eye will send you a fine.

Just to say myself and 3 friends had lunch from the special menu and it was absolutely delicious . The quality (in my opinion) of a 5star restaurant @
We all had the sea bream followed by lemon possett.....fabulous .2 courses for £15 is a bargain .
Have eaten here many times and the meals and service are spot on .
Can't wait for the next time!

What a find !! After being on the road for ages we stumbled upon the George & Dragon and we are so glad that we did.
The food was amazing, cooked to perfection by an incredible chef, it was piping hot & delicious, 10 out of 10 for food, service & atmosphere.
We weren’t rushed, we were welcomed by smiles and they attended to us expertly. 10 out of 10 for the staff too.
We would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will definitely attend again. Well done all 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is a lovely pub restaurant with a big car park. The staff were very friendly d we all enjoyed our meals. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is the confusing park restrictions in the car park.

Stopped for lunch with my partner. Had the 2 course lunch menu. Excellent value, food was delicious, and so was the wine to accompany the meal. Tirimisu was excellent! 🤌
